The Perfect Place to Cool Down

The Perfect Place to Cool Down

We are so spoilt in Tropical North Queensland for stunning freshwater swimming holes, not least of which we find in our own “back yard”!! So it may be stinger season and a bad one at that too; Port Douglas was closed at the weekend due to the sheer numbers of stingers around, but there is no shortage of places to cool down and find relief during our steamy tropical days. It’s certainly been hot this year, even in Julatten. However we are still very fortunate that our mountains provide relief from the heat once the sun goes down. A fan will suffice for a good night’s sleep at our unique private Tablelands Accommodation. It’s at this time of year we bypass the pool, which is like a warm bath, and head straight down to the Platypus Pond for a swim. Only 4 guests at any one time at Sweewater ensures a fabulous and exclusive stay and the possibilities of enjoying the richness of nature and the invigorating feel of the water with a dip in our freshwater creek, a private natural paradise, yours to enjoy without the crowds!
