Julatten is 1200 feet above sea level and is reputed to have one of the top ten climates in the world! Long warm sunny days in summer but cooler than the coast with the mountain breezes, and warm sunny days in winter with cool nights so that you can enjoy a lovely log fire.

From Cairns to Sweetwater Lodge via the coast road/Captain Cook Highway.
From Cairns International airport take the Captain Cook Highway North. Continue past the turn-off to Port Douglas north towards Mossman for approx 7 kms. Take the Mount Molloy turn-off to the left. Sweetwater is approximately 24km from the Captain Cook Highway. Follow up the mountain range (approx 10 minutes drive) and continue for approx. another 10 minutes. You will go over Bushy Creek, past a turning to the right called Sides Road, around a series of bends and into a straight. Sweetwater is situated at the end of the straight on the right hand side, number 2472. The lodge is set back 700m from the main road – follow the driveway all the way in to reception. Please watch for our resident wildlife on the driveway.
If you go over Hunter’s Creek, you’ve gone too far!
From Cairns to Sweetwater Lodge via the inland way (via Mareeba).
From Cairns International airport take the Captain Cook Highway North for approx. 10 minutes. Take the turn off to Kuranda/Mareeba at a large roundabout taking care up the range (about 15 minutes to the top). Continue past the turn off to Kuranda and on for approx 25 minutes to a T-intersection. Turn right taking you through the town of Mareeba and on to the small town of Mt. Molloy. Travel through Mt Molloy, over a narrow bridge, (give way to oncoming traffic!) and turn right to Julatten (signposted Mossman). Sweetwater's driveway is situated exactly 4km from this turn off just over Hunter’s Creek, the first driveway on the left hand side – Number 2472. The lodge is set back from the main road so follow the driveway 700m all the way in to reception. The drive from Port Douglas up the Rex Highway opens up at two lookouts that offer views North towards Mossman and the Daintree.
