Hone your creative skills and enjoy the satisfaction of building your own piece of timber furniture while holidaying in sublime comfort in your private luxury retreat in Sweetwater’s beautiful surroundings on the northern tip of the Atherton Tablelands.Ever since Sweetwater opened its doors, our guests’ feedback has always reflected on the beautiful landscape together with the quality of the lodges, and in particular the timber furniture and kitchens that were exclusively designed and made by owner/facilitator Glenn Cambage.
Now we are delighted to offer you an opportunity to stay in our exclusive accommodation, eat the finest quality food and learn to make your own piece of furniture to take home with you and cherish forever. (For non local guests items can be packaged and transported at an additional cost).
Furniture Workshop Packages are open to couples or individuals. If only one half of a couple wish to partake in the creative workshop that is welcome too. Please see prices provided.

Explore the Area
After two days in the workshop the rest of your time is free to explore the area whether it is a drive through the magnificent Atherton Tablelands, the Daintree Rainforest or a day out on the Great Barrier Reef. Here at Sweetwater we encourage you to explore the region that we are proud to call home. However Sweetwater is also the ideal location to simply relax and get away from it all, have a walk through our rainforest, swim in our many creek waterholes or simply enjoy watching the fabulous nature around you from the comfort of your own private retreat.

Your teacher/facilitator
Glenn, a furniture designer and maker will tutor you on how to master the tools and build your own piece of furniture chosen from his APS range, (affordable, practical and stylish.), which was developed to meet a gap in the market place. Over the past 20 years Glenn has been designing and creating individual pieces for shops, homes and luxury holiday lodges. Passionate about Australian timber, Glenn is a wealth of knowledge and his optimistic and creative approach to the craft is addictive.
Catering
Your days at Sweetwater are catered for by Wendy who has created a varied menu using best quality produce, to suit guests’ individual culinary preferences. Passionate about food and fresh produce Wendy was trained from an early age in catering and food preparation. All food is freshly prepared and delivered to your lodge ready for you for you to cook at your leisure and eat in the privacy of your own al fresco kitchen. Each luxury lodge is well equipped with a four burner cooktop, a Weber BBQ and good quality utensils.
Prices:
$2230 – includes all food and luxury accommodation for 2 people for 4 nights, plus 1 Person Creative Furniture Workshop + your own hand crafted piece of furniture to take/ship home.
$2750 – includes all food and luxury accommodation for 2 people for 4 nights, plus 2 Person Creative Furniture Workshop and two pieces of hand crafted furniture to take/ship home. (This price includes a $ 100 discount on the furniture workshop for couples undertaking the workshop together.)

- 4 day Gourmet Breakfast Hamper with the best of local produce.

- 2 day furniture workshop, (Tuesday and Wednesday) plus freshly prepared morning tea and lunch.
- All materials to make your own piece of furniture
- One full free day ,Thursday (while Glenn lacquers your finished pieces). Relax at Sweetwater or explore the best the region has to offer including the Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest and the Atherton Tablelands.
- Thursday evening: Farewell drinks and canapés together with presentation of finished furniture pieces.
- Friday 10:00am check-out.

Appetise:
2 dips and ciabatta bread – choose from home-made hummus, roasted red capsicum and chili, tuna,capers onion and mayo, herb and fetta cheese dip, black olive tapenade, tzatziki, guacamole (seasonal)
Main Event:
Fresh Cajun coated salmon fillets ready for the char-grill or BBQ
Served with: Freshly Prepared Kipfler Potato Salad – baby capers, parsley, shallots, lemon/lime mayo, garnished with snow pea sprouts together with Mixed Salad of Seasonal Produce – lettuce leaves, tomato, cucumber, capsicum, red onion, fresh herbs and French vinegarette.
To Finish:
Dessert Cake of the Day – Examples: Lemon Tart, Flourless Chocolate Cake, Cherry Tart, Lemon Cheesecake, served with whipped cream.
