Australasian Birdfair – Sydney

Australasian Birdfair – Sydney

Lots of planning on my part was required in order to attend the first ever Australasian Birdfair held at Sydney Olympic Park last w/e. It’s good to deal with people within a business who can deliver the goods to an eager, (and somewhat stressed!) recipient in time and work under pressure to produce good results. Nadia Zammataro from Lotsa Printing, Port Dougals was amazing and I am so grateful for her expert assistance and creative flair in getting our posters, banner and brochures together in time for this event. It may have been the 11th hour but it all worked out in the end and fortunately it wasn’t until the return trip to Cairns that the airline decided to leave the posters behind in Sydney! Thankfully it wasn’t the other way round and they didn’t get left in Cairns on the way there! I was also fortunate enough to have the great moral support of my son Oscar who came along and helped out over the w/e setting up the stand and helping to spread the word about the benefits of a trip to Far North Queensland and in particular a stay at Sweetwater Lodge’s private Bird-watching paradise in Julatten, on the Northern Atherton Tablelands. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience networking with other industry professionals and also meeting people from all over Australia who have an interest in our feathered friends. We are hopeful that this event will become an annual one but with better promotion to attract more visitors. I feel sure many more poeple would have attended the event if it had been promoted more successfully. So, to all keen Bird-watchers, do watch your calendars next year around Spring time and put the Australasian Birdfair in your diaries! We love to share our Bird-watchers paradise with keen like minded people. Special rates throughout the summer season, please enquire at relax@sweetwaterlodge.com.au
